If you have read the "about me" portion of my blog page then you are already aware that i am attending the University of Chico in pursue of my degree in Agriculture Business. My father and his three brothers currently run the family business, a good size farm in Kern County with the central headquarters located in Buttonwillow and with land spread as far as Arvin. They currently farm just over 8,000 acres and own more than have of the land they farm, the other land being leased or still in the process of being paid for. My goal and the reason i am earning this education is to join them in this business with hopes of obtaining similar success within my own life. My father and each of his three brothers are all happily married with smart and healthy children of their own. I can only hope that my future is as bright as their present. This job within the family farm is there for me as long as I am able to first graduate from college. This prerequisite is the reason I am currently enrolled in this English class, and this English class is why I am writing this blog. I hope that all of you will enjoy reading my entrees as much as I enjoy writing them.

Chico sounds very familiar to me. I used to live in Riverside Ca, and Pomona Ca in 1990. Chico, I remember seeing signs for that.
There is a guy here in Pennsylvania who studied Agriculture and he came up with a new plant that made him a fortune. I believe he crossed a wild flower with a weed and came up with Crown Vetch (sp??) It is a wild flower with thick roots that stops soil erosion. The highway dept buys it and uses it on the side of the highways.
